I recently received the Logitech G9X Gaming Mouse MW3 Edition to replace my Steele Series World of Warcraft Edition Gaming Mouse. My old mouse was starting to suffer from extensive gaming use and I decided to try a new mouse. I found that my previous mouse was quite bulky an even though it had 15 programmable buttons I could only comfortably use about 3 of the extra buttons. The MW3 Edition of the Logitech G9X Gaming Mouse features 9 programmable buttons which really translates to 4 extra buttons not found on your typical household mouse. Two of these buttons are used to quickly change how fast your mouse will move across your screen. This feature has 4 programmable settings which range from a extremely slow precise movement, which I imagine would be ideal for sniping, to an extremely quick mouse speed which would help you turn at unhuman like speeds and spray and prey your enemies. Okay, this one's for serious gamers only (who will also wind up getting the companion peripheral -- the keyboard). This mouse is going to cost you more than the game itself, so I hope you are a die-hard player and can play the game for hours and hours on end and plan to play it for at least a year. The mouse provides a ton of customizable options such as the option to adjust the weight against your hand by adding/removing these little weights from the inside and there are multiple grips to choose from so you can maximize the comfort level during marathon gameplay. But the big drawback is you're still at the mercy of a mousepad essentially... and for this price, I also have no idea why this isn't a wireless mouse. Wireless would've been terrific! Is it going to improve your gameplay ability and experience? Absolutely. But is technology today capable of providing PC gamers with better equipment at this pricepoint? I think so. CoD MW3 Logitech G9X MouseThe Logitech G9X has been hailed as the top gaming mice picks for quite some time by PC Gamer and other authorities on gaming hardware. I had been profusely disappointed by Microsoft's mice offerings mainly due to their poor reliability. My previous gaming mouse was a Razer Diamondback which served me well for many years. The G9X uses a high-resolution laser system for tracking. It has 2 primary buttons, 2 side buttons (for RH users only), and the scroll wheel can be pushed side to side, or straight down. On the bottom of the G9X, there is a switch that disengages the micro-clicking feature of the wheel which allows the wheel to free spin. The external grip is interchangeable and it comes with one larger grip that has a slippery rubber texture, while the smaller grip is just textured plastic. The small grip lacks a Teflon decal pad below the screws, but it doesn't seem to affect movement. The cord is braided by a tough fabric material... Read more |
