Most importantly I am not a picky person looking at critiquing every feature. I mainly use this as a gaming set for a Xbox 360/Netflix and PS3 Blu Rays. I've done a little bit of tinkering with the settings and everything looks great.All of my friends(10+) that I have show cased this to were like WOW WTF. I got on Live with COD: Black Ops and all were amazed how great it looked. Then I threw in Avatar and Kingdom of Heaven Blu Rays and sofar the only negative i've gotten was from a friend that has a 55" LED (None 3D) about it not being as bright as his. But he did say for the price and size he would have rather this TV and a stand for it. The wall thing is nice, but for 3D, size, and $$ for this he wouldn't have mind one bit. His wife on the other hand was just pissed how much more they payed and to her this looked better. I did tell all that the only downside would be having to replace the bulb for about $100... About a month ago I wanted to get a TV for my bedroom. I thought I would move my 52" into my bedroom and buy a new large screen for my living room. I decided to go with this TV because of the PRICE for amount of screen size you get.Friends were all telling me to get a flat-panel. But I answered with..."why?" If your not planning on mounting your TV on the wall. What difference does it make? I've always enjoyed rear-projection TV's. They don't give off as much heat and rack up the electric bills. Like my friends 65" plasma that pretty much heats his whole bedroom at a high price per KW. When my 73" arrived, I was blown away by the size of the box. The overall unit was not heavy but MY GOD, the box was HUGE! Finally got it in and unpacked. Didn't weight much. My girlfriend and I lifted it out of the box and onto the stand no problem. I read all of the negative reviews about it and still decided to purchase it. Mostly people complained about the bulb, so I went ahead and got the 2yr extended warranty.Having said that, I must say how amazing the screen. The first movie I watched on it was Inception. I was blown away, it was like watching a movie at the theater. I have had absolutely no problems with it. About maybe the only thing I don't like is that it takes 20-30 seconds to warm up when it turns on. But so does my 40" Visio, so its really no big deal. I have tried Xbox 360 on it and been equally impressed. |
